Branded Brochure Rough

Image
Branded Brochure Rough Working on the Branded Brochure Rough was really fun but took a lot of time and detail, especially for the first page. The first page was where I had to make everything from scratch. All the creatures, background, and details was started on the first page. The rest of the pages had recycled stuff, like the creatures but had a few changes to them. Or I just created a whole new creature or sun. After I got the flow, the rest of the pages got finished a lot quicker. A lot of my ideas got created, but the part where each different set of pages would have a different background was changed because it would have taken too much time and I would have not finished the brochure rough on time. For the water, I made it 50% opacity so it can really make it that the creatures are underwater. Lastly, I made it so the front and back page would have a portable console in between both pages. This assignment was really fun and made me use a lot of my creative thinking into it...

Brochure design research

Image
Brochure design research 1) What is the main message? The main message that my brand would be best known for is that we put the same amount attentions on our fans as our games. A big problem with game making companies is that they only care about money and don't pay attention to the fans and in worst cases, they don't care about the game. My brand is passionate about the games they make and are thankful for any feedback fans give, even if it's negative.   2) What are the secondary messages? The secondary message that my brand would be best known for is that we work with  celebrities, shows, movies, and fictional characters. Working with different brands, celebrities, and possibly other games, can increase the relativity and popularity of my brand and products. 3) Specific text? Gaming icons clash in the ultimate showdown you can play anytime, anywhere when a new entry in the Super  Smash Bros .™ series arrives on the Nintendo Switch.  Super Smash Bros. is a cros...

Type Pairing for your Brand

Image
Type Pairing for your Brand   I remember doing this type of assignment, but this time it's with my brand title and tagline. Doing it with my brand name made the work more personal and professional rather than another assignment. For line proportion, I combined Agency FB with Corbel. Both fonts are tall with a high X-height and was relatively squarish. There were many fonts that had the same characteristics, but Corbel looks the best with Agency FB. For line quality, I used Agency with Helvetica Neue LT Com. Both fonts had sharp edges and these fonts aren't distressed so they fit well together. The fonts also have zero to low contrast, are tall, and have no serifs. For the historic period, I picked Century Gothic. Century Gothic was created in 1991, and Agency was created in the 1990s. Since both come from the 1990s, both fonts fit well in the historic period pair. For mood, I used copperplate, which has an old yet representable feel. With copperplate, it makes the brand feels m...

Retouching

Image
Retouching Before This is the Great Wall of China and it will be vanished from existence. At first I wanted to do the U.S. border, but there wasn't any good photo of it. I used the selection tool and filled it with the background. After This is the picture after the wall is filled with background. First I selected the wall and added some background to the selection. After that I went to the edit panel and selected fill and content aware. I think it turned out well and makes it seem that it's a normal rain forest. Before  This is a tree with lightning in the background. I took out the tree so it's only the lightning in the background. I used the spot healing brush for this. I was trying to find someone in the thunderstorm and I did, but the quality was really bad.  After This is just lightning without the tree. I think it turned out great and makes it seem that the tree was never there. I used the spot healing brush tool for this picture and highlighted it.  Before ...

Non-Destructive Images Adjustments

Image
Non-Destructive Image Adjustments Solid Color  Solid Color is an image adjustment that covers the image with a color. I don't know how this can be useful professionally. I couldn't play around with the color a lot so I just picked my favorite color. Gradient Gradient made part of the image a specific color and it slowly fades out. I also couldn't edit Gradient, I couldn't edit the color to at least be blue. If it changes colors, it might be useful in a professional aspect. Brightness/ Contrast Brightness and contrast is self-explanatory. It changes the brightness and contrast of the image. This image adjustment is probably used a lot by professionals. Levels Levels was the first image adjustment that I played around with the most. I started making the image dark and then try to get another color to be shown that goes well with black like red, green, or white. Only green and red were shown and I liked how it turned out. Curves I like how curves turned out, it reminds m...

Three Masking Techniques

Image
Three Masking Techniques Before After Before After Before After The three masking techniques are really cool and help me add images with other's backgrounds or images. The first composition is Pablo Escobar with Terry from a game and put them on a stage. Terry is supposed to say check this out and punch Pablo out of the stage. I masked Terry and Pablo and added them to the background. I think that it looks funny and got the idea from the game Super Smash Bros. After adjusting the height of Terry and Pablo so they can be around the same height, I finished the first composition. The second composition is a piece of mandarin orange and a plastic spoon. I made the Mandarin the background, then selected it so it can be masked. I  colored part of the spoon's mask so the Mandarin can be seen through it. The third composition was the pencil being selected and then turned into a mask. After that, I duplicated the layer with the mask so only the pencil can be seen. I kept one of the penc...

Robot Final

Image
Robot Final 1.0 2.0 \ Draft The idea of creating a robot out of images from the internet is really smart and fun. For my robot, I had the idea of making it British and having British stereotypes, like biscuits, tea, and formal wear. For the biscuits, I used some that my mom and I love getting and I think that they are from Scotland and not Britain. The body and legs are mainly fancy clothes with a knife and hammer as hands, a hand watch, and a tea bag as extra stuff. My robot is carrying a cup of tea because he is British and who doesn't like tea? My robot's head has a fancy plate covered with circle biscuits as eyes, a triangular biscuit as a nose, a monocle, two tea cups as ears, and a fancy robotic hat. To make my robot look right, I had to erase some parts of the pants and sleeves. I also got an image of a shoe pointing to the right and the right hand holding a teacup so my robot wouldn't be symmetrical. Lastly, thanks to Gio, he helped me find out how to create shado...
