Non-Destructive Images Adjustments

Non-Destructive Image Adjustments

Solid Color

Solid Color is an image adjustment that covers the image with a color. I don't know how this can be useful professionally. I couldn't play around with the color a lot so I just picked my favorite color.

Gradient

Gradient made part of the image a specific color and it slowly fades out. I also couldn't edit Gradient, I couldn't edit the color to at least be blue. If it changes colors, it might be useful in a professional aspect.

Brightness/ Contrast

Brightness and contrast is self-explanatory. It changes the brightness and contrast of the image. This image adjustment is probably used a lot by professionals.

Levels

Levels was the first image adjustment that I played around with the most. I started making the image dark and then try to get another color to be shown that goes well with black like red, green, or white. Only green and red were shown and I liked how it turned out.

Curves

I like how curves turned out, it reminds me of how one of the blend modes. The image adjustment makes most of the image white, light blue, and light green. It also makes the image very dark which makes it hard  to see.

Exposure

I played with Exposure a bit, but it almost looked the same as curves when I set the setting to low and I made them stay up. I made exposure really make the white color stand out in the image. It also made it so we can still see all the colors, unlike curves.

Vibrance

Vibrance makes it so colors that are seen, are more lit up or less saturated. Even though the process is simple it makes the image look better. It makes the whole image look more bright.

Hue and Saturation

Hue and Saturation is another one that I liked because I played around with the setting to make it look cool. It made the background for the guy look red, which makes him look evil. The hand also looks good and is highlighted by white pixels.

Color Balance

I used Color Balance to make most of the image green, I also made it slightly yellow and cyan which makes the green a more light green. The image looks pretty good, but it has too much green, professionals might use this.

Black and White

For Black and White I made it so the back ground for the guy is mainly white. I wanted some of the hand to show and it worked. Also the man has two colors in his face so I had to make them around the same color.

Photo Filter

For Photo Filter, the whole image looks a bit darker and clean. Other than that the image didn't change a lot. The image looks alright and I can see a professional using it to make a image look slightly darker.

Channel Mixer

For Channel Mixer, I played around with red, green, and a bit of blue. The image looks really good with the adjustment and makes it so it focuses on two colors. The white on the book makes it look like the background is a marble table.

Invert

Invert just inverted the colors of the image, but it didn't like me play around with the settings and just left it as it is. Even though it didn't let me edit the image, the image itself looks good and cool. Professionals might use this with a mask or use it in a show to show something cool happening.

Posterize

Posterize made the image look like it had less pixels than it actually did. I used a mask on this image and masked the man. I made it so the man is the only thing that wouldn't get effected by the Posterize image adjustment.

Threshold

Threshold was really cool because I could edit what stayed in the image and what didn't. Whatever stayed in the image is black and I made it so some of the man stayed in the image.

Gradient Map

Gradient Map looks really cool and it made me add a filter into the image and is why the image looks like that. The default made it green but I changed it to the light blue color that has some regular blue in it.
